¶ Public Bio
Brother to Lizbeth, Simon remembers when his sister was nothing more than 'Elizabeth Simon', an awkward little girl constantly getting into trouble. To Simon, not much has changed in the years since. Despite that, Liz and Simon have always had a connection no one else has ever been able to understand. As much as he claims otherwise, she is important to him, and he seems to have a sixth sense for knowing when she's in trouble, often showing up at just the right moment to lend a begrudging hand.
To most of the world, Simon is simply Liz's creepy older brother, with a sadistically cruel temper. There are a select few, however, who know him instead as the foremost scholar on all forms of Dark Magic. He has an extensive library, and occasionally entertains his own guests, in his wing of the house. Lizbeth is the only person Simon has ever allowed into his wing unannounced; all others have quickly been evicted with the knowledge that if they ever did it again, he'd simply kill them without asking questions.
¶ Abilities
¶ Physical Enhancement
Physically, Simon is 'strong' and 'fast' by human standards. He is technically super-human in his reflexes, but only just. He is no match for his sister in a fight. He can also heal at an accelerated rate, but it's just a flat 'faster than normal'.
¶ Shadowmancy
Dark magic typically manifests as either shadows, or simply a 'lack' of light. A 'darkening', if you will. Simon has mastered the art of forming that darkness into useful constructs; creations of pure shadow, willing to do his bidding at a moment's notice. They are simply extensions of his consciousness; they cannot act on their own. At least, not yet. (He's actively working towards imbuing basic independence.)
¶ Summoning
While not explicitly a form of 'dark' magic, Simon has several long-standing pacts and deals with Dark Entities. Creatures of Dark Magic, most of which are decidedly evil, with either a hatred of or taste for humans. He has (on multiple occasions) feed their more disgusting desires, including rape, murder, consumption, (or all three).
He is very aware of the danger of dealing with these creatures, and always takes an absurd amount of precaution. He never considers them allies, and will not use them for anything he can't live without. As he would put it, "They can smell desperation, or desire. It's better to be aloof and just this side of apathy. And don't think for a moment you can lie to them; you can't."
¶ Imbuement
Where Simon shines is in Magical Imbuement. He is especially skilled and knowledgable about inbueing something (including his own body) with magical energy, to devastating effect. His favorite weapon of choice is his cane, which he typically stores a huge amount of Dark energy in. He can turn it into a magical blade easily, or release all of it's magical energy in a single blow of the cane's head. (It typically has more than enough energy to level a building when used in this manner.)
When Simon imbues himself, he can make himself stronger and faster; surpassing even Liz. However, the toll on his body is bad enough that it can take him weeks to recover even his normal level of strength afterwards.
